These are the duties and Responsibilities of each exec position within the MSA,

 

 

The President will:

 

i.      Oversee the other members of the executive in fulfilling their responsibilities;

ii.      Chair all meetings;

iii.      Have USC Finance Office signing authority for the club;

iv.      If absent, assign an executive with all the responsibilities of the President;

v.      Act as Chief Returning; (This designation may be moved to any other executive position)

vi.      Be responsible for his/her individual duties to Allah, the Most Gracious, as defined by the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him;

vii.      Form various Ad Hoc committees with the approval of the EC;

viii.      As a visionary of the MSA, summarize the periodical written reports on the state of MSA in the form of an introduction to such reports, to either the EC, or the members at the Annual General Meeting;

ix.      Establish an efficient network, by his/her active involvement, between the MSA, the various scholars of Islam, and other organizations that promote the teachings of Islam.

 

 

 

The Public Affairs Executive will:

 

i.      Give or cause to be given notice of all meetings;

ii.      Be responsible for their individual duties to Allah, the Most Gracious, as defined by the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him;

iii.      Be responsible for acting as liaison between the MSA and the USC, other student clubs, and other organizations; in the City of London and in the region, and at conferences and other functions outside the UWO community;

 iv.      Book rooms and venues for various MSA activities, and coordinate with the University Students’ Council (USC) and the UWO regarding that matter;

 v.      Assist the Secretary in carrying out the Secretary's duties;

vi.      Be responsible for taking over the secretary’s responsibilities in their absence.

 

 

 

The Brothers’ Vice President, Sisters’ Vice President will:

 

 i.      Organize club programs, activities and events in accordance with its Constitution’s mandate;

ii.      Have USC Finance Office signing authority for the club;

iii.      Be responsible for submitting event proposals through Eventsnet;

iv.      Be responsible for adhering to all terms and conditions set forth by the Student Organizations Advisors;

v.      Be responsible for their individual duties to Allah, the Most Gracious, as defined by the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him;

vi.      Carry out the responsibilities of the President and assuming the President's functions in the President's unavailability;

vii.      Direct and coordinate the activities of all committees of the MSA, and acting as a liaison between the EC and the commissioners.

 

 

 

The Treasurer will:

 

These are traditionally considered “VP Finance” responsibilities

 

i.      Oversee all financial dealings of the club;

ii.      Keep complete records of all financial dealings of the club;

iii.      Have USC Finance Office signing authority for the club;

iv.      Be responsible for their individual duties to Allah, the Most Gracious, as defined by the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him;

v.      Countersign, along with the President (or the Vice Presidents in the President's absence), of all withdrawal checks on behalf of MSA

vi.      Prepare the annual budget of the MSA of the next fiscal year in consultation with the EC and Commissioners where appropriate, before the Annual General Meeting;

vii.      Prepare an annual report of the financial position of the MSA, including original net worth, revenue generated, expenditures incurred, amount owing, accounts receivable and funds remaining and submit it to the USC;

viii.      Present before the EC a report on the status of the MSA's financial affairs on a regular basis;

ix.      If outgoing, getting the incoming treasure up to speed with everything by providing the incoming treasurer with a summary of the last year of their term. That summary is then to be audited by the incoming treasurer.

x.      If incoming, getting a summary of the last year of the outgoing treasurer's term, and auditing it.

xii.      Disburse no funds of the MSA except as authorized by the EC.

xiii.      Actively seek methods of raising funds for the MSA in consultation with the executive committee and the commissioners.

 

 

The Secretary will:

 

 i.      Record votes and minutes of all meetings;

ii.      Be responsible for their individual duties to Allah, the Most Gracious, as defined by the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him;

iii.      Assist the President in preparing reports of all important events and activities of the MSA;

iv.      Prepare, maintain and make available the minutes of all the EC and General Meetings;

v.      Get the agenda information from the President, preparing the agenda for the EC, EC and Commissioners' meetings, and making the agenda available to the relevant parties before the EC and Commissioners meetings;

vi.       Maintain the Master-list of members in terms of contact information;

vii.      Maintain all information about every meeting or event, and making this available to any EC or Commissioner upon request;

viii.      Maintain club status for the MSA with the USC;

ix.      Preside over the EC meetings in the absence of both the President and the Vice-Presidents.

Juma'a Prayers will be held in Kresge 208 at 12:30 pm and 1:30 pm.
